Headache, Oye

Saturday, January 28th, 2006

It’s the assholes that make you hate consulting gigs. Trust me, I don’t do it for the money (mostly) - i do it to work with people and get insights into my designs and ideas. Why this post? Enraged, homicidal tendencies brought on by a prospective client from eight months back that wanted a design done(website). That was the first clue - he was too “busy” to put time into the initial planning. If it was the busy season then put a specific amount of time each day - 30 minutes would be sufficient. You would be surprised how that builds up over a period of time. Second clue, he wanted the design done NOW out of the blue. Third clue, the design he wanted was a throw back from the early 90’s - I knew I should have said goodbye. But I was willing to work to improve it so that maybe the design had a chance. Don’t you understand I do this because I love design? Fourth clue, it wasn’t about the design however great but the bottom line - money. It would be no big deal - I understand, but to put it fucking mildly - that was fucking cheap - i get yelled at. Maybe that’s the problem. Eh whatever, Headaches, OYE!

DO the DEW

Mountain Dew’s energy drink sucks. I usually wouldn’t say this, I’m a huge fan of the Dew. But the MDX concoction seems mild in comparison to RedBull or No Fear’s Double Down. MDX offers about just the same incredients as RedBull and twice as sweet, but the time for me to feel the effects took forever. It’s too little too late. Don’t worry about cannibalism - it’s not going to be in the market that long. Do the Dew the original way and if you want a little pep - I find that Mountain Dew and RedBull mixes very well.

OH SWEET ELIXIR

The Red Bull Gods, aka Patrick our Red Bull delivery guy, dropped us off a little gift yesterday. Oh what a sweeeet wonderful sight it was. Little might be an understatement. Words couldn’t describe our delectation. As Patrick said his goodbyes and whispered his last words of wisdom to IT, we cried. We promised the same care and love. It was a touching moment. When the door closed behind him all hell broke loose. Austin hit me from behind with my own chair. No, it’s not made of wood. I woke several hours later to find, IT,….GONE. I will have my vengeance.
